It’s that time again! World Book Day 2020! This year it was a Vocabulary Parade – where you could choose a word and appropriate costume… Eleanor chose ‘dauntless’ to describe her favourite Dragon Quest XI character, Veronica. I had so much fun making this cute costume for her. Click here to see more pictures!
It’s World Book day 2018 and it’s snowing outside! Here are the costumes for this year… Molly Moon and Hedwig the Owl from Harry Potter.
I had lots of fun making them! Click here for tons more information and lovely pictures…
Now to clear all the fur and feathers from my Sewing Room!
I’ve been so busy with Christmas orders at Dotty Owl but I had to take a little time aside to make a 1970s outfit – required for a Christmas Show!
I sewed up some flared trousers using suiting fabric and a jumper to match from authentic 1970’s fabric… Read more and see lots of pictures here…
I have just finished work on some alterations – after I had a request to transform a Little Green Radicals Snowsuit (18-24 months) into a more practical and wearable coat. Click here to see more about how I got on and the extras I sewed with the offcuts!
I have spent the last couple of days making a World War II costume! I used several different pattern as well as adding some details myself. I’m pleased with the results – I was surprised that I was able to order a pattern, cut and sew a beret in 30 minutes! More pictures and information here.
I’ve been busy for the last couple of weeks making dance costumes for the girls… They danced to ‘Love’ by Lana Del Rey and ‘Magnificent’ by Elbow for a local dance competition. They both wanted me to sew them costumes to match the ones worn in the music videos (see below) – luckily they were very pleased with the results – phew!
Happy Friday! The girls have gone to school dressed head to toe in spots for this years BBC Children in Need: Spotacular. They loved it!
Here are some pics…
