Rosie Dress – Sew Over It

Last week I spent some time making the Rosie Dress by Sew Over It to wear to a party – it’s a pattern that has been in my stash for a while now. I loved making my Megan Dress hack recently and had some fab stretch cotton left over.

I went for a vintage style which I think suited the 1950’s inspired Rosie Dress pattern. I love the lace fabric too (even if my other half dared to say the words ‘net curtain’ !!) I found a rose gold zip online and enjoyed adding that (I think I spend too much of my time drooling over Ted Baker dresses! Maybe I was channeling that).

I did alter the pattern a little bit which meant that it took longer than I had anticipated – I widened the straps slightly, shortened the hem and did a FBA.

I’m really pleased with the result and all the extra effort was worth it – as I now have a pattern cut to my size for another version… hmmm… another version! So many fabrics, so little time!

Well done for making it to the bottom of the page! here is a photo of the squirrel who appeared while I was having my photos taken – I just couldn’t resist getting this adorable snap of him!
